High up on a narrow ridge in the Garhwal Himalayas stands the magnificent Kartik Swami Temple, a place where the sky feels closer, silence feels sacred, and the winds carry ancient legends. Dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, this temple is one of Uttarakhand’s most serene spiritual destinations.
Whether you are a trek lover, a spiritual seeker or a nature enthusiast—this spot will stay in your heart forever.
According to mythology, Lord Kartikeya sacrificed his bones here to prove his unparalleled devotion to his parents. The temple symbolizes selflessness, purity, and devotion, and you will feel that energy as you climb toward the shrine.
The journey to Kartik Swami Temple starts from Kanak Chauri, located about 40 km from Rudraprayag.
